Beatriz Lopes

Beatriz Lopes is currently the Family Youth & Children Spiritist Education (FYCSE) Director for the United States Spiritist Federation. She is a representative of the US within the International Spiritist Council Youth Committee. Being a Spiritist since childhood, Bia had the remarkable opportunity to represent Spiritism globally at the United Nations at the age of 16. Since then, Bia has actively taken on various roles within the Spiritist community, from leading study groups to delivering lectures and organizing events like the annual Spiritist Youth Retreat.

Bernadete Leal

California

Bernadete Leal is a devoted mother, passionate educator,  artist, singer, and storyteller. She serves as a board member of the Spiritist Society of San Diego, where she shares her knowledge and insights through lectures and workshops focused on education and Spiritist teachings. Bernadete is also an active member of Sembradores de Luz, dedicating her time and creativity to producing educational videos, writing articles, and developing resources that support families and Spiritist educators in their spiritual journeys. She joyfully lives with her husband in the beautiful, sunny city of San Diego, California, and nothing brings her more happiness than spending time with her beloved grandson.

Dan Assisi

California

Dan Assisi is an author and an international speaker who has delivered hundreds of talks and conferences on spirituality in over 60 cities on 4 continents. Known for a mix of deep thinking and witty humor, Dan takes a unique approach to spirituality that is steeped in reason to remind audiences everywhere of our spiritual nature. He is a founding member of The Spiritist Institute and of the California Spiritist Association and hosts the Spiritist Conversations podcast. Daniel holds a Doctorate degree in Education and a Masters in Public Administration with a Graduate Certificate in Public Policy.

Eduardo Haddad

Texas

Eduardo Haddad has been actively working to disseminate the spiritist movement in California, Florida, Texas as well as Nationally for the past 25 years, having founded Spiritist Centers in California and Texas, serving as Treasurer of the Spiritist Federation of Florida, and currently as the Treasurer of the United States Spiritist Federation. He is currently a worker in the Kardec Spiritist Group of Austin, TX

Gabriel Macedo

Florida

Gabriel Macedo is a member of the Spiritist Center Chico Xavier in Delray Beach, Florida. He is an active participant in the International Spiritist Council Youth Committee, working to promote Spiritism globally. Gabriel is also committed to inspiring individuals of all ages to experience the divine beauty of classical music. A pianist since the age of seven, he has won International Music competitions combining his love for Spiritism and music in his mission to uplift and enrich the lives of others.

Julia Magri

Forida

Julia Magri is a member of the Children’s and Youth Committee of the Spiritist Federation of Florida. She serves as a facilitator for youth and young adult Spiritist study groups, and the annual youth retreat in Connecticut. Julia is also an educator at the Love and Wisdom Spiritist Society in Tampa, Florida, where she works directly in Spiritist education programs. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences, combining scientific knowledge with Spiritist principles in her educational and volunteer work.

João Korngold

New York

João Korngold is one of the founders and directors of the Spiritist Group of New York and the Spiritist Alliance for Books. He began studying Spiritism more than 30 years ago and has been one of the directors of the mediumship meeting at SGNY for the past 20 years. He is also responsible for study groups that focus on the basic books of Spiritism and on the Andre Luiz Collection. He gives talks on Spiritism in Portuguese and in English. Joao Korngold is an Engineer and works as a banker.

Leonardo Haddad

Texas

Leonardo Haddad is a Recovery Advocate at Nova Recovery drug and alcohol rehab center. Leo attended Spiritist Youth Education since a young age, and has taken up the role of educator working with teens at Sunrise Spiritist Society in Houston, Texas for 5 years. He currently provides support in the English studies at Kardec Spiritist Group of Austin. As a worker in the Spiritist movement, Leo focuses on bringing a new perspective on what it means to be a Spiritist in this day and age. Leo holds a degree in psychology and philosophy from the University of California, Irvine.

Leonardo Vieira

Maryland

Leonardo Vieira is one of the founders and workers of the Spiritist Society of Baltimore (SSB). He has conducted and helped with several works at the SSB including study groups, mediumship meetings, and public talks. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Management with a specialization in Homeland Security. Professionally, he works for a major financial institution as a Banker.

Kirsten DeMelo

Maryland

Kirsten DeMelo is an active board member at the Spiritist Society of Baltimore. She was born in Philadelphia, PA to Spiritist parents and was part of the Spiritist Society of Philadelphia before moving to Maryland in 2011. She has participated in the Spiritist Medical Congress and multiple Spiritist symposiums. Professionally she is a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science degree with experience in critical care, case management, and utilization management.

Marcia Trajano

Tennessee

Marcia Trajano is the president and one of the founders of the Solitude Center for Spiritual Living. She is also one of the co-founders of the Christian Spiritist Community of Atlanta and a former board member of the US Spiritist Federation. She is a Spiritist for more than 25 years and has participated in giving talks and leading study groups in English and Portuguese. With a Master’s Degree in Management of Technology, Marcia currently works in the Healthcare industry.

Nahur Fonseca

Massachusetts

Nahur Fonseca is a Spiritist practitioner and educator based in Arlington, Massachusetts, with over 20 years of service to the Spiritist movement in the United States. Originally from São Paulo, Brazil, he holds a PhD in Computer Science from Boston University. He is an active member of the Allan Kardec Spiritist Society of Massachusetts (AKSSMA), where he supports English-language study groups, and a founding volunteer of the Family Spiritist Retreat, an initiative that brings families together for reflection, service, and youth activities.

Peter Hays

New Jersey

Peter Hays is a worker at Spiritist Group Love and Light in Newark, New Jersey. He is also the current Outreach Director of the United States Spiritist Federation (USSF) and an active participant in the Tri-State Spiritist Federation (TSSF). Peter has published several children’s books with his wife, Beti Rozen, through their company Sem Fronteiras Press, and with other publishers in Brazil, Colombia, and the U.S. Having a long background in theatre, he holds an MFA in Dramatic Writing from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

Rebecca DaSilva

Maryland

Rebecca DaSilva is a dual major in Leadership and Psychology at UNC Chapel Hill and an impact investing intern focused on using finance for social good. She plans to attend business school and pursue a career in ethical leadership. Since 2017, she has been an active member of the Allan Kardec Spiritist Society of Maryland’s youth group, where she studies spiritual philosophy and engages in service. She intends to apply Spiritist teachings to both her personal and professional life.

Suzana Simoes

Florida

Suzana Simoes is an active worker of the Spiritist movement. Dr Simoes spends her time between her professional work as a Doctor of Physical Therapy, her family, and the dissemination of Spiritism. Suzana has worked as a member of the Spiritist Federation of Florida and the United States Spiritist Federation. She is one of the founders of the Conscious Living Spiritist group in Miami where she works primarily overseeing the work in English. She is an active speaker in the US and abroad.

Yuri Castro

Florida

Yuri Castro has a doctoral degree in clinical psychology, is licensed in Florida, and specializes in the treatment of severe and persistent mental illnesses. Yuri has been involved in Spiritism since an early age, and started his journey as a speaker in 2012. He is a volunteer worker at the Conscious Living Spiritist Group (CLSG) in North Miami, Florida. Yuri has been serving as the Marketing Director of the USSF since 2025. Yuri also has a weekly podcast about Spiritism titled “Spiritist Companion” in English and “Companheiro Espirita” in Portuguese.
