FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Portland, Oregon – The United States Spiritist Federation (USSF) will host its 17th US Spiritist Symposium on September 30, 2023, in the inviting atmosphere of Lincoln Recital Hall on the beautiful campus of Portland State University in Portland, Oregon. The symposium will focus on the topic of “Spiritual Path for Mental Balance.”
Not only will participants have a day of learning and focus on spiritual growth, but they will be in Oregon’s largest city before the shadow of snow-capped Mount Hood. Gorgeous nature, great sites to be visited, and a cultural life including thriving art, theater, and music scenes. It can be a rich weekend of diverse activities.
The US Spiritist Symposium is a full-day event gathering individuals interested in exploring the teachings and principles of Spiritism, and those who are searching for spirituality in their lives. It provides an opportunity for attendees to learn from experienced speakers, participate in discussions, and connect with like-minded individuals.
This year’s symposium will explore the spiritual path for mental balance, an important topic in today’s fast-paced world. Mental health is a growing concern, and many people are looking for ways to find inner peace and balance in their lives. The symposium will examine how Spiritism can provide guidance and support on this journey.
Activities for children and youth are being prepared by a team of Spiritist Educators with a focus on “A Peaceful Mind.” It is important that the youth develop skills that help them face the world’s challenges by filling their hearts with hope and seeing life as a beautiful gift.
“All of us, in a direct or indirect manner, have known someone or someone’s kid with mental health issues. The increase in numbers, the despair in people’s eyes—these have intensified the need for bringing Spirituality into this equation. We believe that Spiritism offers a unique perspective and practical tools that can help individuals find greater peace and happiness in their lives. We are excited to bring together a diverse group of individuals to explore the spiritual path for mental balance,” says Tania Schwartz, President of the USSF.
Spiritism contains a set of principles, revealed by Superior Spirits through mediumship, and organized by the French educator Allan Kardec. In essence, it reveals who we are; where we came from; where we are going; what is the purpose of our existence; and what is the reason for our afflictions. Every concern we might have about life can be addressed with reason. Spiritism explains humanity’s spiritual evolution through inner transformation via successive reincarnations; it encourages awareness of the relationship between material and spiritual realms, and how love and charity can help us overcome our limitations and bring us closer to perfection.
For the past 25 years, the United States Spiritist Federation has dedicated itself to encouraging the integration of Spiritist Centers, and to disseminating Spiritism within the U.S.
